Our Mission is to assist young boys, teenagers, and young adult
men into and during the transitional stages of Adulthood on a spiritual
level.
The vision I see is young, developed minds armed with the sword
of confidence, the shield of faith on God and within themselves, and
the words of truth, wisdom and understanding as they take their
rightful place in society as leaders in their community. I see them
helping others, as they were helped, to know and understand their
purpose, power, and strength, as they now do, and are executing
everything they learned. This will make them become vital, purposeful
men and icons in the community and their family homes.
Own-up ship
We will begin with the meaning of Own-up ship. They will learn and understand the Duties, responses, and response-abilities of becoming and being a man in the home, community and in today’s society. They will learn how to own up to their own mistakes without blaming anyone else for what has happened in their lives.
Balancing
Balance is realizing that it is alright to tap into your emotions. We are ¾ female anyway and this is why we even have emotions. When it comes to balance, we will help the young men learn to use the right side of the brain more with intension. Being balance is learning that just because you can fight or hold down a job or make good grades in school that does not officiate you to being a man; it just means that you can respond to your ability and therefore you are response able. The young men will learn that their balance is what officiate them as being men. When they can tap into their female side and understand themselves without false judgement, then they can call themselves a man.
Positivity
Positive Thinking helps one to learn to break the barriers of habitual negative thinking, conditioned thinking, etc. learning to recognize when the thought presents themselves as negative and
being able to dispel those thought and make powerless over their domain is a powerful tool to use when confronted with so much adversity.
Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is one of the processes of learning how to think. Once learns how to think through self-awareness. They then begin to understand how to question themselves and the situation they are in. if it makes sense to them then they can move forward in their endeavor; however, if what they are questioning and reasoning about does not make sense to them, then more than likely the
endeavor should not be pursued and they should correct the course of their current situation to a more profitable and comfortable direction. When you are self-aware of a situation that you are in you are not reacting, but you are taking control and regulating the situation to meet your preferred outcome that will alleviate any and
all possible conflicts of interest. You become the thermostat and not the thermometer.

Got a question? We’re here to help.
It Takes a Village has designed this program on a personal basis. Based on the needs of an individual, they will decide how long the clients will need to stay in the program. The program itself is in four-month intervals, having classes one day per week, four hours per class.
The max time one can be in the program is 12month (1yr). The age of acceptance into the program begins at 12year old and reaches up to 35
years old. One who is already 35 years old can still be in the program until they finish at 36 years old.
It Takes a Village will partner with the county juvenile courts; the county adult courts and the county school district. They will also collaborate with several mentoring establishments such as the YMCA, and the Boys and Girls Club. It Takes a Village will have outreach events to let the community know that We are here to help them with their sons and younger husbands.
Some of the methods that will be used to help these young men will be counseling; one on one and group meetings. These will be interactive and non-judgmental. We will incorporate meditation with sound bowl healing. We will include regular reiki sessions and massages to help one understand that the mind in a relaxed state can benefit the life so much better than always being on guard.
There will be fieldtrips and retreats that the young men will be taken. Anyone under the age of 18 will have to have permission from their parents or guardians. These methods amongst others will help promote maturity, self-sufficiency,
pride, and confidence in these men. It will also help establish a spiritual foundation for them to build on to help them understand the divine laws of Nature, Universe, God, and self.
